Summer face - L'Oreal and NARS reviews

I ran out of my Lancome foundation and to be honest, it probably came at the right time.

Sunshine has finally arrived in good old England. I am *touches wood* fairly lucky with my skin. Apart from a little dryness when it gets cold, I have clear skin. I use foundation to give myself a little more colour on my face. It does get a little sensitive as I am allergic to Petroleum and I have been known to have small reactions to make up so I am careful with what I pick (and what I would recommend on my blog)

Last year I was sold on the Garnier BB cream and I still think it is a great product for the cost. After experimenting with new make up over the winter period, I have become more aware of picking the right colour for my face. Because it is quite pale, anything too bronzed just looks silly!

Enter two new  products for the summer ... NARS tinted Moisturiser and L'Oreal Lumi Magique. Completely different ends of the price range but both do the job needed for this summer.

NARS Tinted Moisturiser

The NARS tinted moisturiser is perfect for during the day. It is light on the skin but gives enough colour and coverage to look like you have a little bit of make up on. I love the smell of this too! Usually tinted moisturisers can be a little peculiar with scents but this one is a nice citrus smell.

Problem with this is that it does not last long on my face and usually requires reapplication in the afternoon. I don't have to time to do it so I end up leaving the office looking like I would when I wake up, rough and pale. That is a little disappointing.

At a cost of £28, there may be other more cost effective tinted moisturisers out there but this one feels good quality on the skin and gives a natural glow to the face.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique

I find the L'Oreal foundation to best to wear during the evening. Compared with Lancome, it is a fair lighter consistency but gives the same amount of coverage. What I loved more about this range was that there was a great choice of colours to suit everyone's skin.

Price wise, it is £10.99 but there is always a discount or deal on the high street or supermarket so if you do buy this at full price, you are a silly billy :)

The Body Shop - Madagascan Vanilla Flower Fragrance Mist

My colleague came into the office last Friday smelling lovely and had to ask what she was wearing. She said it was a fragrance mist, something that I haven't really come across before, and so I went hunting at the weekend.

The Body Shop never fails to let me down when it comes to lovely smelling products. I absolutely prefer this shop over the likes of Lush. Seems like its the 'in thing' to be a fan of Lush but I find the smell when entering the store overpowering and get fed up before looking around. The Body Shop stores are always full of colour and a great range of products.

The Madagascan Vanilla Flower Fragrance Mist is perfect for me. Its light, smells gorgeous and you get a good quantity in the bottle for the price you pay.

The instructions of  how to use it (I find this hilarious by the way!) is to spray after your shower or bath but I have been using it before I head out for the morning or evening so its whatever suits you. The fragrance only needs a little top during the day.

The bottle and the design looks elegant. The only issue I have is that the bottle is glass so I don't have it in my handbag which is a shame.

I have also noticed when putting the link in that this is actually cheaper online. I paid £9 in store but its £7.50 on their website. GO GO GO!!

Dear 13 year old me ...

I have read quite a few posts like this recently and I love the idea behind them. I actually did something similar when I was 11. I wrote a note to myself on my 16th birthday on everything that should have happen by that age. I even taped in under my desk drawer to remind myself that it was there! As you would expect, I didn't star in a movie or kiss my 'perfect boyfriend' :)

Do you ever look back and think of anything you would change or has it all gone to plan?
